At Home Hairstyles

Hair Trends For Lockdown | KAM Hair Salon, Lossiemouth

Lockdown is the perfect time to give your hair a break from heated styling tools and instead, experiment with different hairstyles and updos that do not require heat. Below are some of our favourite hairstyles to wear during lockdown with information on how you can easily create these looks at home…

Space buns

Space buns are a very fun and edgy look and are great to way to give your regular bun hairstyle a bit of a quirky update! To create this look, start by using a comb and creating a middle parting. Then separate the hair into two ponytails at each side of the head and taking one ponytail at a time, twist the hair, rolling it up into a bun before securing with a hair tie.  Once you have done this on each side, finish the look by using a finishing spray, serum or oil to get rid of any flyaways and keep the hair looking neat and tidy!

The Top Knot

Topknots are the ultimate in casual hairstyles. The topknot is such an easy style, which makes it the perfect quick hairdo to get your hair out your face for doing stuff around the house, exercising or even just for relaxing. Simply pull your hair back into a super high ponytail and secure into place then use another hair tie and wrap your hair around the ponytail base to create a bun. Pull some tendrils out around your face to frame this area and to create softness or for a more slicked back and sleek look, ensure you have all your hair in the bun and use a gel or serum to get rid of any frizz and flyaways.

Tousled Waves

Tousled, relaxed, effortless hair is very popular this year – hairstyles that require minimal styling with texture. A great way to get this hairstyle, which is super quick and easy, is to sleep in braids overnight. Once you have woke up in the morning and taken the braids out, if you want to create more volume or a messier look, simply spray the hair with some salt spray or texturising spray and scrunch the hair.

Low Ponytail

Ponytails are a great hairstyle for lockdown and this hairstyle looks so chic and sophisticated whether worn high or low. A low ponytail is one of our favourite ponytail styles at the moment, having appeared on many of the catwalks, and looks so chic. The key to this look is securing your hair at the nape of the neck to create the perfect low pony. Whilst creating the pony, try to be light handed and avoid being too ‘neat’ to give the ponytail more of an effortless and undone finish. You can then pull pieces of hair out around the face to frame your features and give the ponytail a more playful look if desired.
