FROM MORAYSHIRE TO MARRAKECH

The conference kicked off with the full Matrix team dancing on the stage (including the Managing Director Hugo!) to welcome us to Marrakech, ending with a bit of Gangnam Style which was hilarious and a great start to conference. We went all the way to Marrakech and we still can’t escape that song! After we recovered from that, we went over the exciting new products and colour that Matrix will be launching this year, so lots of exciting things coming for us stylists and also for you our clients. Matrix launched an ammonia-free colour at the end of last year, which we are now using in our hair salon in Elgin. This is much kinder to the hair and scalp leaving it much more soft, shiny and manageable. Next time you visit us in the salon for a colour appointment ask about our oil driven colour, Colour Insider. You’ll need a skin test at least 48hrs before your appointment but it’s well worth it and we’re sure you’ll love the results.

In the afternoon we were taken to the Sosqu to purchase slippers for the evening ahead. This was a very different experience to our usual way of shopping in Lossiemouth 🙂 We were taken to a palace (I know, we felt like royalty!) for an evening meal and enjoyed some local entertainment and everyone looked great in their slippers.

The following day we learned in more detail what exciting developments in the hair world we can expect this year. You can be sure we’ll be one step ahead of the competition and bang on trend.

Afternoon was free time so we went back to do a little more shopping (You can take the girl out of Lossiemouth…) and also enjoyed the lovely sunshine!

Our last night was our Matrix Red Tie night and we were taken to Pasha for our awards ceremony and evening meal. This was our glitz and glam night! Karen was invited up on stage to receive her medal for being with the company for over ten years, a fantastic achievement and very inspirational to see, it just goes to show when you book an appointment with Karen you really are getting someone with valuable experience and masses of dedication.

I’m very lucky to be working as part of the Matrix brand and working with some of the best in the hairdressing industry. I always enjoy returning to the salon after these events full of inspiration and advice for the whole team to learn from. You can be sure there’s going to be lots happening at our hairdressers in Elgin once again this year.
